Sorry if this has already been posted/answered, I checked with search but I'm not very good with it so couldn't find anything :o

I'm a vegan, with a pretty healthy diet & I take vitamins etc, but I have a lot of trouble concentrating.

Any tips?

Also, if the vitamins you take contain additives such as:-
Magnesium Stearate, silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide and other nasty stuff, they are virtually useless, and will in fact be doing more harm than good.

Meditation..

listen to the ringing in your ears, focus on it.

breath in and out without making a wheeze from your nose. This helps internalise the breath to the abdomen and slow it down. slow breath = calmer mind.

there are zillions of meditation tecniques.

Running is good too, reading a book, writing down your thoughts in a journal or short story.

Water!! just a little dehydration is bad for the brain.

Also, brains need decent protein to function well. And a substance called acetylcholine, found in...

eggs
soya
peanut butter
oats
almonds, hazelnuts, macadamias
broccoli/cabbage/cauliflower
milk/cheese/yoghurt
apple juice

I believe you can also take it as a supplement.

Thank you all :)

If your vitamins aren't from a wholefood source they are likely doing more harm then good.

The loss of concentration is a sign of lack of energy due to lack of nutrition and a lack of the bodies ability to deal with waste elimination causing a lowering of the body systems ability to produce energy for the brain allowing you to concentrate for long periods.

Lots of water, raw healthy fresh veggies and your Essential and Omega fatty acids will all aid the bodies processes, brain function and improve concentration.

Also eating some whole fruit if you want for high activity/stress concentration such as sports or work.

you can get essential and non essential fats neccesary for brain function asaswell as long lasting energy from a variety of
seeds (preferably soaked), such as hemp/sunflower (high in omega 6 and flax/chia high in the (most important omega 3) or you can buy the oils that come in bottles at most health food stores, Udos choice oil is a good one.

constant fresh air is crucial for concentration and necessary for your body to create the energy for your body and brain to function at its peak, so if you are indoors have a window open if possible.

you will quickly lose concentration if you are in a place for long periods of time, where the air is little airflow causing the air to become stagnant and contaminated with aerobic microorganisms or chemical products.

make sure your getting enough rest during day the and enough good sleep during the night 8 hours is average needed for people to feel fully rejuvenated, wake up feeling bright and alert if you aren't you may need to go bed earlier (or sleep for a little longer), and make sure eating right before you go to bed affects how well you sleep the quality and how much energy and clarity you regain from the rest.

Too many unhealthy foods in your diet such as too many dry foods, processed grains ( bread, wheat and pastas), lots of soy and refined sweet or junk foods can also ruin your concentration and create other problems such as irritability, cravings and lack of energy.

These things all people should be doing or be considering for reducing negative stresses symptoms lack of wellness and for optimal health and well being.

Here's to feeling great 100 percent of the time.

It sounds a bit odd, but my concentration is much better when I am partaking in regualr intense exercise, not just running and walking, but good weight training sessions too.

It makes your mind clearer and sharper.
