I thought you might like to hear of a comic story that was published in 1979 – it was called ‘Break Even’. and told of 2 geologists checking out planets for minerals – they come across a planet that doesn’t seem to make sense… it turns out to be hollow – a ‘Gas Giant’ – like a balloon. Although it’s not about alien handy work it is a good read… ‘just another example of the concept of hollow planets outside of Earth/Mars.
As for the Moon – I’ve always puzzled at how it happens to appear the same size as the Sun when we see a Solar Eclipse… It seems a big coincidence that the Moon happens to be the right size and at the right distance between Earth-Sun - funny old world as they say ;-)
