Hi, anybody know the cheapest way to get to Ireland and camp there for a long weekend? I'm not interested in going to any cities, I'd prefer to go somewhere in the countryside and admire nature, but not too far from civilization. I'd also like to go somewhere where they don't hate the British lol

I'm living in the West Midlands just in case thats relevant.

Thanks, I'd try the holiday websites but they try to make it all inclusive, all I want is cheap transport and a quiet area to camp.

The site only has links to farms in Northern Ireland, I'm looking more at mainland Ireland, thanks a lot for that though, I'm gonna bookmark the page for future reference :)

Edit: Tell a lie! I've found it :P

Edit2: Ah no I haven't :(

Me being Irish and all, I've been about Ireland a lot. Beautiful in the countryside, stay the hell out of Dublin.

Go to an island in the county of Mayo called Achill. Achill island as absolutely STUNNING, peaceful and serene. Not TOO isolated, but just enough!

I love you take my advice!

Dav.

Actually, I find very little people in Ireland hate the English......the only reason England would be "hated" is the bloody show the English make of themselves when they go drinking after football matches in Dublin......talk about braindead...

Sorry, I didn't mean to come across as ignorant, I definately don't think all Irish people hate the British, I only know a little bit about Ireland so I apologise.

I'm definately not accusing the Irish of being universally racist though!!!

Ireland is steeped in culture and history.. I can hardly blame them for not exactly loving us brits if the history books are anything to go by..

In my experience, the Irish are fantastic people..

If you're serious my email is regul@hotmail.co.uk, if anybody is interested just let me know and I'll keep you updated!:D

It probably won't be till early next year but it would be awesome if people from this forum would attend! We was going to keep it me and two of my friends because we're the only people we know who won't want to get pissed and cause a fuss (as I said, I'm from Sedgley :P)

But I know the people on here are amazing, so that would be great!

Edit: So does anybody fancy making this a forum meet-up?!?!

I'd also like to go somewhere where they don't hate the British lol

You should wear a shirt that says "I love the Irish!!!" or "Irish and proud" and deliberately go into the cities just for fun.

stay the hell out of Dublin.

Why?

Don't shout "Top' O De Mornin'" out loud in Dublin unless you like getting punched in the face multiple times!

Plus, it's MY saying! :D

Why?

I'm too tired to type much.....so I'll keep it quick.

Grey, rain, drugs, drink, 9-5, home, tele repeat.
