A British teenager who is accused of possessing material for terrorist purposes has appeared in court.
The 17-year-old, who was arrested in the Dewsbury area of West Yorkshire on Monday, was given bail after a hearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court.
It is alleged he had a copy of the "Anarchists' Cookbook", containing instructions on how to make home-made explosives.
His next court hearing has been set for 25 October.
The teenager faces two charges under the Terrorism Act 2000.
The first charge relates to the possession of material for terrorist purposes in October last year.
The second relates to the collection or possession of information useful in the preparation of an act of terrorism.
He stood in the dock wearing a baggy, blue hooded top and only spoke to confirm his name and date of birth.
After the 40-minute hearing, the teenager was released on bail under several conditions.
A second 17-year-old who is facing similar charges has already been remanded in custody and will also appear at the Crown Court on 25 October.

A 17-year-old boy from Dewsbury will appear in court today charged with offences under the Terrorism Act.
The teenager, thought to be from Ravensthorpe, was arrested on Monday and will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London.
Police said the first charge related to the possession of material for terrorist purposes.
The second relates to the collection or possession of information useful in the preparation of an act of terrorism.
An other 17-year-old, from Ravensthorpe, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on September 19 to face the same charges.
He had allegedly been found with bomb-making chemicals under his bed after a trip to Pakistan.

This is why I never read and download any of that suvivalist shit, there's all sorts in those that will get the coppers on your tail big time. Have they gone to the shop and arrested the people for seliing the books? Have they arrested the printers, the publishers and all involved in the process? Of course not. Same as the smoking business and the gun business. Always get the end user.

Just like cannibis, they advertise it everywhere, promote it and shove it under your nose, and the moment you touch it you are ostrisized, condemed and convicted.

It's as though they have an agenda. Perish the thought:eek:

Always makes me laugh the crap they come out with, why, if you were clever enough to make a home-made bomb would you be stupid enough to do it in your bedroom and hide it and the materials under your bed?!!:rolleyes:

It comes under the ridiculessness of ......"One of the terrorists' passpost was found (not even scorched) at the base of the WTC on the pavement"

and

" The terrorists left their car in the car park with a 'How to fly a 747 manual' along with their birth certificate...."

I mean why not just put your 'diary of a terrorist' in the post the day you go to do your 'act'.....AS IF!!!

Are you saying they may have been fitted up lottie?

They are probably just a pair of angry fantasists, no doubt downloading the @ cookbook brought them to the attention of the authorities.

The Anarchists Cookbook?? Bah!! I had that 7 years ago. Most of it is bullshit, and childish.

A fun read though, if you don't take it seriously. :D

Probably sounds like i do but thats not what im saying although it wouldnt surprise me in the least, its just the exaggeration that gets me, i was reading that article in the Daily Mail about the girl who ran away to Egypt the other day and the way the 'journalist' (i say that lightly) had worded it was to totally gain more 'emotion' and outrage.....

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/femail/article.html?in_article_id=486017&in_page_id=1879

You would have thought Amy might have learned her lesson - but no. Despite promising her forgiving parents she would never run away again, she pined for Noby and, unable to forget him, ran away a second time.

Outrageously, she funded this latest foray with taxpayers' money. Using the cash she saved from Labour's £30-a-month Education Maintenance Allowance - a government grant to encourage teenagers to stay in education - she paid for her £800 air ticket with a further £300 left over for living expenses.

Unabashed, she can't see what might be wrong with this and says she has no intention of finishing her course in art and design, when all she wants to be is a wife and mother.

Its the way she said 'outrageously she used taxpayers money'....
I mean who cares? Money is money! maybe she had saved it but there's no law that states the way in which you have to spend that money is there? If for instance she'd saved up all her pocket/birthday/xmas money for years n yrs and the used that to help herself whilst at college and saved all her gov money to go to Egypt it makes no difference....
Many people who are on the dole dont spend their money on 'food and essentials' and quite often it can be drink, drugs and good-times, but there's nothing to say that you MUST spend it on basic essentials is there?
The way she said it would be to gain that 'shock horror' factor so everyone will be reading it thinking 'IM paying for her to do that....condemn her!'

Its the type of thing that would have outraged me a few years ago- i was a self-righteous little madam because i was conditioned to believe that if you claim benefits you're scum and 'i've worked since i was 14- never claimed 'dole' ever even when out of work'....which was 2months once!

I remember i did an essay at college 2yr ago for my english gcse where i self-righteously ranted on about someone i knew who claimed dole and was always better off than me even though i had two jobs and worked full-time and went to college(paying for it too) and i got an 'A' for it- im sure it wasnt just my english skills but the fact that i was highlighting a fact that everyone is conditioned to police each other over, including my University trained English teacher!

anyway...apologies....i digress!!!! :rolleyes::o:D

Yes lottie I think it was the Daily Mail that put supposed pictures of Madeliene McCan in the "clutches" of some Morroccan Muslims. The story turned out to be a load of rubbish!
