.....that show on SBS they are running called "Decadence - Democracy"?
It was the closest thing to conspiracy type information I've ever seen on TV.
I never usually watch TV either but I happened to catch this.
It was run straight after another interesting one called "Why Democracy" about these Chinese school kids having a classroom monitor vote. Which showed a lot of "between the lines information" for me....
But this Decadence one was pretty damn good. It was questioning politics and democracy in Australia and it's involvement with USA, showing the pictures of the POW all piled up and the gun pointing pic and all that...hinting at this and that all the time...at least from what I was looking at through my perspective.... they even went on to talk about how the media was a duopoly at the best if not a monopoly and hinted at how much people are waking up to all this stuff....
It was very good for mainstream stuff. I was impressed.
Anyone else in aussie see this too?

I never saw the show you're talking about. I only watch sport on TV.
I did see ch10 showed In Plane Site, or one of those 911 internet type docos last year at about 10:30pm. I watched a little bit just to see if it was really gonna be aired. It was one of those ones drenched in atmospherically sinister music...very much like Unsolved Mysteries or something...most morons are capable of identifying sinister music as manipulating, and so lean toward disregarding any content within.
Most people who saw it probably couldn't even remember what 911 was anyway.

Yeah those ones you can usually predict they are going to be shooting down alternative theories and fortifying the official version tho....
This one was very unbiased as far as I could see. It's a breathe of freash air to hear the mainstream (or at least semi) media talk on this level.
This is the show info from the SBS site:
Decadence - Democracy
Pria speaks to Robert Manne about the erosion of democracy in this country, and the stifling of information which results from the media duopoly. Governor General Major-General Michael Jeffrey admits that there is a "fraying around the edges" of democracy in Australia. Pria observes that democratic debate is being suffocated due to the current government silencing dissenting voices like the ABC. Professor Marian Sawer notes that the Federal government is the biggest advertiser in the country, ahead of corporations like McDonalds and Coles Myer, using public money to spin their message. (Commissioned by SBSi, in English) (Documentary Series) (Rpt) PG CC WS
I see all this stuff as symptoms of the emerging awakening myself....

Damn, I missed it! I was channel surfing and saw the Chinese kids program, which I watched for about 2 minutes before moving on. Wish I'd hung around now!!!

I think it is on every week, it examines aspects of western life and asks 'is it all it's cracked up to be?'
