Even though I returned to sender the voting registration form that was posted to my house (to "present occupier") stating that Present Occupier does not live here. And having been reassured by the wife that she has not signed any door to door bods' forms, we have received polling cards????

I've just got back from my local council offices where I have been trying to deal with this same issue.

If you have registered (which I did in sept. '07) your name goes on the roll, if you do not register, for whatever reason, the following year...'they' are "obligated" to carry your name forward for the following year.

After that (second) year.....if you do not register then they are "obligated"to write to you and inform you that your name will be removed from the electoral roll and they should also remove your name from that list.

My name should have been removed in Dec.'09 but they have just told me that they have made a mistake so I now have to deal with the matter in writing.

I have just logged in to ask another question relevant to this but I am going to post it as a new thread.
