Seems to me that Dondaz films are in retaliation to the cctv cameras going up all over the place......The police/ptb can watch and monitor us but it becomes awfully inconvenient when a citizen/subject/sovereign individual wants to film and document them!!!!!!!!!

Just my 2p worth

Yep, and if he's like me and millions of others, increasing frustration at figures of authority being let off crimes and cctv footage conveniently dissapearing when it involves them, I'm actually ashamed I havn't got off my arse to do the same as dondaz, if we all did it they'd have an awful lot of people to scold and harrass

So so true shodan. Also, many people insert themselves into a fearful and defeatist mentality and refuse to take a stand.

Re dondaz....I think he's already mentioned somewhere that he is
filming those who film us WITHOUT our permission at all times.

Tit for tat I reckon......in fact, there ought to be more people filming
the Police....they need to be kept honest because it is well known there
is much Police corruption and they traditionally get away with far too much
by simpy closing ranks.

Power to dondaz and all others putting themselves out there!

Hi dondaz.

What do you think of the CCTV cams going up all round? Do you mind being filmed?

First of all, you have to look at what the source who are putting the CCTV cams up are also doing in the world.... and hence get a good reflection on why they are putting the CCTV cams up all over the place...

Secondly this is the whole point... if they are sticking CCTV cams all over the place why and what gives them the right to tell us we cant film them?

if they are free to film what they like, where they like, then so should we be.

what harm can be done by Dondaz filming police? they are on duty within our society

I'm not so sure.
(And I know dondaz et al will think I'm trolling
For saying this but I just don't care).
Tit for tat never got us anywhere so far.
And I really don't see the logic behind
Retaliating against treatment we don't like (surveillance society)
By doing the exact same thing (surveilling the surveillers).
It's the same logic as murdering people who murder
And thinking that that somehow settles the score.
Two wrongs don't make a right
An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind etc.

nb: This is just my opinion.
In no way am I criticising dondaz for his filmmaking
Nor trying to convince him to stop.
Nor trying to say he doesn't have the right.

Gawd forbid that I would ever suggest murdering people who murder
No, its not not retaliation - perhaps tit for tat was a little misleading.
Its more about keeping them honest. ;)

What Dondaz is doing is very provocating I think the word is, and of course the police will be annoyed by it. That said I agree that they do keep survailance on us when they see fit sometimes, and therefore they should be able to be good examples by not minding being filmed either.

Some of the things the police do might be classified to actually protect our privacy though. Someone who might just be a suspect or something like that should not become publicly known as a suspect before there is any proof, and this is one of the few reasons where I agree with the police that they should not let it be known publically.

Mostly I think they do not like to be filmed is because if they did do anything out of line on camera, they would have some trouble disproving it in court, or because they are human and uncomfortable by the it.

Look, Gandalf may have said to Frodo "be not quick to deal our death and judgement, even the very wise cannot see all ends" but he was battering the shit out of a Balrog an hour later, so what he was really saying was "look don't start it but be sure to finish it kiddo"

I agree that cops should be filmed....when they're actually doing something wrong (like beating someone, tasering them, etc....). Constantly filming them even when they're just going about their regular routine seems needlessly antagonistic and supsicious.

CCTV is stationary and passive. There's nobody following you everywhere you go, persistently pointing a camera in your face. I'm sure you would have a much more negative opinion if, instead of stationary cameras, the law allowed cops or agents to walk around holding cameras in order to tape civilians. I'm also sure that the cops would have a different opinion and a different attitude if Dondaz had a stationary security camera on his house which filmed the street outside, rather than him actually holding the camera while hiding behind bushes.

That's not to say that CCTV is right, but really, comparing it to what Dondaz is doing is just inaccurate. Nor is his method of "tit for tat" at all effective, considering that the cops don't have the authority to change the legislation that keeps CCTV in place. Why not follow the legislators around instead? Because that would be too hard and too risky.

Hi dondaz.

What do you think of the CCTV cams going up all round?

I only just saw this post. Fame at last:rolleyes:

Well, I think they have their uses in city centres and various shopping areas. Airports, military and the like. But I think there is a deviding line when it comes to big brother having cctv pointing on my house 24 hours a day, which we are going to get if more people around here don't stand up against it.

This is an area I have studed extensively in the past six months and stated my case to the police at local meetings. We beat them over installing a huge mast with three cameras on them over the road from my house. They gave up and we thought we had won. Then they brought in their back-up plan. They are going to turn a large 2nd story flat, overlooking my back garden and staring right into my sons bedroom window, and turn it into a police servailence station. They will be mounting the cameras on this building. I have the police inspector saying this on film.

So, my concerns are, I do not want my house under 24 hour servailence. I will be posting the police meeting vid in my forthcoming documentary, In The Name of The Law. There are planning permission issues, which for some reason are never a problem for the police, even though I have a mate who has had issues with the council over his home cctv being mounted on his house. They refused to let him have 'building permission'. What a crock!

So, as I started to wake up to the bigger picture of things, I came across the police from time to time. All the vids you've seen here have been filmed over the past 14 months, hardly me stalking the police eh. I have film them on and off over the years as I have traveled around filming life in general. There is never any maliscious intent when I have filmed them. I don't swear at them and call them silly names or rant at them. But I am a bit of a cocky fucker, I'll wont deny that. So, over the past couple of years the police have gone from being ok people, I have the footage from 1995 to present, to being the control freaks we see on my current vids.

My footage of the police is minute compared to the rest of my filming, less than 2 percent easy. People will see the bigger picture when my film is finished. Trailer comming soon. I have a hole heap of my best work to edit and post, fiction, music vids, mad little documentaries with a zany cast of carractors doing and saying amazing things.

Do you mind being filmed?

Was Hitchcock camera shy?;)

Check out my films on google vidoe: http://video.google.co.uk/videosearch?q=darren+pollard

I am in quite a few of them here and there. Also, you could phone Central News, they have filmed me on two occaisions, in 2000 and last year, and put it on the news:eek:

I have pointed out the duality of it all to the police and want to talk about this openly and publicly, but they were avoiding the issue everywhere. All they would do is invite me to the police station talk about it. Malvern came to the last meeting and made a few very good and important points. I even have the chief inspector praising me for my little speach I gave to everyone. I got that on film too.

So, I'm not going into this issue again untill my film is finished. I'll post the trailer soon.

Best

Darren

Yeah, it's okay to have your own opinion, just don't say it out loud.
That's brilliant.
