TV show "The Prisoner" = Guantanamo Bay prison?
I've been watching the classic TV show "The Prisoner" recently and something occurred to me. The whole show takes place in a Guantanamo Bay-type prison.
1. Secret prison. Check
2. Outsiders don't know what happens there. Check
3. Prisoners are held without trial. Check
4. Prisoners are systematically tortured. Check
5. Prisoners are kept indefinitely with no right to habeas corpus. Check
6. Prisoners are constantly monitored, having no right to privacy. Check
I find Guantanamo Bay to be one of the most despicable, evil things that any government has ever done and yet...
"The Prisoner" put a Guantanamo Bay-type prison on commercial television almost 50 years ago.
Was it a warning, predictive programming, brainwashing...? What's your opinion?
I look at "The Prisoner" show as a metaphor for modern life and possibly predictive programming for Guantanamo Bay-type prisons.
How horrifying is that?

i see where your coming from, ive only seen the one episode at the minute. i didnt think about prisons, because the main character is going about trying to 'wake people up' to the fact that there is more to the world than this village they are all living in, but he isnt locked up or anything yet, they are just trying to brainwash his beliefs out of him. have to see what happens..
