Hydrogenated?
Cold pressed?
Raw?
Cooked?
Saturated?
Which one? Let me know.
Raw, cold pressed, (extra) virgin, organic etc...
Hemp, flax (VERY fresh), coconut, pumpkin, ghee, olive : oils.
You could use borage, evening primrose, cod liver, ratfish : oils, more as a supplement.
Most often, the less it is heated (so it technicaly stays "raw"), the better it is for you. It has to do stuff with the living enzymes helping you to digest food/itself/etc.

OK - have you looked at the requirements for EVO?
Ghee is cooked butter - is anything cooked the same as it was before it was cooked?
CLO is contaminated - is it not?
Is organic good for you? - Organic butter is made from pasteurised cream - is that good?
The reason I'm asking all this is - all is not as we think it is.
Does raw mean unprocessed?

Good answer - but - is it better than 7oz of fresh coconut?

People - lurkers, help me out.
Are things as they should be?
Are there discrepancies with the oil products?
I use EVOO and eat fresh coconut.
I've stopped using organic butter because it is pasteurised cream - and that was really tasty.
The organic market is perhaps not as good as we thought.
How cold is cold pressed? - does anybody know? What about the heat generated from the pressing machines being on constantly? - I've been to these places and they get hot.
When you cook anything it's structure changes and it has detrimental effects on the body - including fats.
Should I just chew into raw pork, cow fat?

Yes!!! Well, maybe not pork. But grass fed, organic, local cow fat - go for it ;) especially if it's fresh. Nom nom.
Personally I would say go for raw products, and preferably whole foods. Eat a steak, or an avocado, or a coconut. Or roast yourself some marrow, then use the leftover bones to make broth. High sat fat, so less oxidisation, so one less thing to worry about! =)

I've heard the palaeolithic diet is very healthy - the meat would need to be organic?

Its really easy to make cold pressed coconut oil at home. Just buy some organicly grown coconuts and husk them, let them dry, and press out the oil. An old book press can be used, whatever you have, even a screw vice thats on the work bench. Then use that oil to fry veggies or a nice and juicy steak.

Good idea - I may try that.

Yes, paleo eating is supposed to be healthy and optimal for the human system. It depends on the veracity of the evolution hypothesis, of course! If we accept it, then paleo is almost ideal. A few things, however: certain forms of dairy, e.g. double cream, butter, ghee (to a lesser extent) are almost purely animal fat and so could be classed as paleo (cf. Mark Sisson www.marksdailyapple.com) - the reason being that their are almost entirely fat. If you were to eat raw cream/butter then (I would wager) you would be a happy human.
Coconut oil is fantastic, but in looking for "good oils", endeavour not to end up substituting fairly empty oil, nutritionally speaking, for quite good full spectrum whole foods, such as steak, heart, brain, marrow, etc.
Eating a table spoon of coconut oil is good, but sucking down a couple of eggs or eating a steak is usually better!

I will stick to the fresh coconut as it contains much more than just oil.
I have raw organic eggs every day.
I'm not sure about eating raw meat in large enough quantities yet. Small pieces no problem.
Yes - I need raw saturated fats, so I will research solutions for that. God, I hate pasteurisation.
