Cop Pepper Sprays, Punches, Nearly Breaks Girl's Arm During Curfew Arrest

Another shocking example of police brutality has been caught on camera showing a cop nearly breaking a girl's arm, punching her and then pepper spraying her in the face as she cries after being arrested for violating a city curfew.

The cop twists the 15-year-old's arm right up behind her back to almost breaking point before the girl appears to bite the officer, upon which the cop punches the grl and pepper sprays her directly in the face.

Descriptions of the video on mainstream news websites strongly emphasized the fact that the girl bit the officer without even mentioning the fact that he would have probably snapped her arm out of the socket had the brutality continued.

Last week, a video showing a school security guard arresting and breaking a girl's arm for dropping cake made national headlines.

The last couple of months have produced an epidemic of police and security guard brutality which seems to be spiraling out of control as cops are trained that the public is their enemy.

Fort Pierce Florida Police Officer Dan Gilroy Attacks Child Over City’s Bullshit Curfew Law - Tuff Guy Appears On Dash-Cam Punching The 15 Year Old Girl

FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA - A 15-year-old girl is facing a felony battery charge from a curfew violation incident in which a city police officer struck and pepper sprayed her after she bit him — actions shown in a police videotape released Thursday.

Fort Pierce Police Chief Sean Baldwin said he stands by how Officer Dan Gilroy handled the July arrest.

“It is shocking to see that a police officer has had to use that level of force against a child,” Baldwin said Thursday night. “But … my opinion is he responded appropriately and in accordance with our policies.

“I do not expect my officers to stand there and allow a child or an adult to bite them,” he added.

Gilroy was trying to handcuff Shelwanda Riley, 15, of the 300 block of South 25th Street, for breaking the city’s curfew when she became increasingly violent and bit him, according to the police report.

Gilroy dragged the girl to the front of his car, dodging her kicks and swings and activating his in-car video camera to record the remainder of the encounter, his report said.

At one point, she “clamped down on my hand/wrist and I felt immediate pain shot up my arm,” the officer wrote. “The pain was shocking, and I thought the suspect was going to extract a large piece of flesh from my hand.”

Riley was in court Thursday and had her case scheduled to go to trial Nov. 28. She faces a felony charge of battery on a law-enforcement officer and misdemeanor charge of resisting an officer or obstructing justice without violence.

Last week, Baldwin received a call from the Public Defender’s Office expressing concerns the girl’s family had about the video recording of the arrest.

Baldwin asked the Public Defender’s Office to have Riley’s family contact him, but he said he hasn’t heard from them.

Gilroy, who was wearing cut-resistant gloves that protected him from serious injury, struck the 100-pound girl in response to the bite, the report said.

“(She) left a large amount of saliva on my wrist as she took a full bite,” the officer wrote. “My wrist was red and slightly bruised, but there was no broken skin.”

Gilroy was responding to a 911 call about a suspicious couple walking the area of 24th Street and Boston Avenue with full garbage bags, when he met up with Riley at about 1:50 a.m.

She was carrying a bag of what appeared to be new clothing, the officer reported.

Photos provided by the Fort Pierce Police Department show scars on Riley’s wrist that Baldwin says “happens when people that are handcuffed resist by pulling away.

“They actually get scrapes, abrasions on the wrist,” he said.

This woman was clearly hysterical, how difficult is it to restrain someone alone, very, im 6 ft 2 and i couldn't restrain a chitzu dog at the vet.

the officer clearly positions himslef in front of the video at the start, its not like he was 'caught' on camera, but rather he wanted himslef to be filmed

What I want to know is where this officer learnt to apply his submission holds and arm locks......

This is a 15 year old girl......against a fully grown man........this guy would get his arse kicked by Stephen Hawking judging by the form I just witnessed.....

He had the left arm in cuffs and all he needed to do was grab the girl at the wrist, twist the arm in the direction of her body, which would have had her in an arm bar and totally under the officers control.....he could have then applied the cuffs to that hand (this is BTW standard Police training)......game, set and match, girl apprehended.

Anybody justifying this footage needs to do some combat training or at the very least study it to realise just how easy it is to get someone (especially someone 5 times weaker than you) into a submission hold where they are then under your control.......especially when you have one of their arms cuffed and behind their back.

My conclusion is that :

A) This officer is completely inept with no combat training whatsoever or...

B) He allowed the girl to continue to struggle and hence bite his arm to justify excessive force.

I'm swinging more towards the latter.........

Yet another shocking video.

This is the summary of this weeks police brutality:

1. 15 year old brutally handled and pepper-sprayed for no real reason.

2. Young girl drops cake and gets her arm broken.

3. Guy asks John Kerry a question and gets arrested and tazered.

4. De Menezies gets shot 7 times in the head by police and NO-ONE is held accountable.

What the hell is going on here, the Police are out of control. Do you think that they know that more of us are aware of the growing police state and they are acting to brutally enforce themselves as the long arm of the law?

What do you do if you see someone being unfairly treated by the cops, you cant do anything, you cant call the cops because they ARE the cops, you cant try and stop them as you will then be brutalised and arrested as well, you cant even yell at them without risking arrest - it's terrible.

Sickeningly the guy who ask John Kerry a question had dumbo members of the public laughing at him while he was being brutally assaulted why didnt that place erupt into a riot - it should have!

We are becoming so fearful of the police and it's supposed to be the other way around, everything is distorted.

I think the best way to behave when confronted by the police is to have some balls and stand your ground (if you are truly innocent) and to know the law and show them that you know the law. If they start shoving you around, stay calm do not lash out and just do as they say. I cant believe I just wrote that but how else can you get arrested without being in fear for your personal safety and wellbeing?

Just avoid anywhere there are police present, end of story.

This is an infomation war and the police around here know I am not going to get violent or condone violence. They know I go to see the polititions and have it out with them too, so that covers my ass, to an extent. I have right on my side too, which gives me the advantage over the police when they know they are doing wrong, like trying to stop me filming. It's just like when they catch a crim red handed stealing a car, the cops know they are right to go after him.

I have enough footage of the police asking me to turn my camera off and I have done so in the past, I'll post some soon, but since they have started to harass me for filming them from my garden I've had enough. I will not stop filming or turn my camera off for no coppers any more. No-way! Right now they are leaving me alone because they have seen my vids on youtube, but it was prisonplanet and rense putting it on their front page that really sent the message out to the police. Leave me alone.

And those twats need locking up for doing that to those police!
