Local news tells of a possible new local bidder for the Corus plant on Teeside tonight, yet the dissmantling continues as news is given, I can't see any hope of a sell off by Corus due to new compettion, once as that furnace has been turned off the bricks will crack and a new set up cost would be futile, only time will tell I suppose.

carbon trading — the process by which polluting companies can buy credits from companies with fewer emissions — is not proving as straightforward as had been hoped. Corus, for example, has mothballed its steel plant on Teesside, but is now widely expected to profit hugely by selling £250m worth of carbon credits that the government is giving it.

Its a sad state of affairs when carbon elsewhere is worth more than peoples lives and jobs here, because some twat sold the family silver, if we buy TaTa's steel here afterwards we buy into our own destruction, feck this is going to be the norm for at least another 20 years at least I reconn until China ceiling and throw us some scraps to assemble, shoe on the other foot while we walk on childerick, crap all day long and on, hone those survival skills folks because we are gonna bloody need them, lets get Ray around for a few quick lessons :(.
