Bar of soap and a hot shower. No more smelly assholes.
They smell because they are located in a dark sweaty crevice, and they let out really pungent digestive gases and other waste.

Shit stinks so we won't eat it. It's already been stripped of nutritional value the first time around. Plus it's swimming with bacteria.
Evolution says this is a poor choice for nutrition.
Hence, evolution makes shit and shitholes stink so you don't try to eat them (unless she asks, of course) :D
