This I was discussed only one time in February 2009, however I am about to have to concent to giving my ID and fingerprint or thumbprint scanned to be able to enter the many of the pubs & clubs in my local area.
I would like to know the legalities of such an exercise where biometric data is stored especially when it is shared with multiple venues. What questions should I ask of those requesting the data be stored? Should I ask what their data protection procedures are, who the company running the system is, what government agencies the data is shared with, etc.
Whenever we concent to passing through a scanner or to have a pat down or bag check, I feel it affects our civil liberties. What are your thoughts on the legalities of these?
