This is the `say something NICE` thread.......

I dont know about anyone else, but religion forum or no religion forum its now becoming quite tedious keep reading all this banter about Islam -vs- Christianity - and God -vs- Allah - & whatever else.

Surely there`s got to be something NICE that ppl can say for a change ?
(or is that too much to hope for around here ?)

Anyway, here`s a little something to make us all think about what is important in our lives..... and it certainly shouldnt be only money & work, although of course we know we need those things in order to keep a roof over our heads.
So this is my offering - to kick this thread off :-

To those who prefer to keep arguing about religions......
the other threads can be found HERE (http://www.davidicke.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=14) :D

Can I borrow £5 ??

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son
waiting for him at the door.

SON: 'Daddy, may I ask you a question?'

DAD: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the man.

SON: 'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'

DAD: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the man said
angrily.

SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'

DAD: 'If you must know, I make £10. an hour.'

SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.

SON: 'Daddy, may I please borrow £5

The father was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow
some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself
straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I
don't work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.'

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.

The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions.
How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?

After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down , and started to think:

Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that £5 and he really
didn't ask for money very often The man went to the door of the little boy's room
and opened the door.

'Are you asleep, son?' He asked.

'No daddy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.

'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the man. 'It's been
a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the £5. you asked for.'

The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you daddy!' he yelled. Then,
reaching under his pillow he pulled out some loose change

The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again.

The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.

'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father grumbled.

'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied.

'Daddy, I have £10. now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early
tomorrow. I would like to

Have dinner with you.'

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for
his forgiveness.

It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not
let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who
really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that £10
worth of your time with someone you love.

If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in
a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for
the rest of their lives.

I've said some very nice things this week, and in return I've been called 'worldly' and 'satan' by religious peeps. :)

I think I should "say something nice" more often. It's very cathartic. ;)

`sticks `n` stones & all that, eh ?

I see you`re a musician - what kind of music are you into ?
(we could do with some music and comedy around here - although admittingly looking at some of the threads, one might say those do qualify under the category of `comedy` lol)

all the best. :)

Itotally agree, but unfortunely it will not happen. Why? Stubboness, pride and judgments, all part of the human condition that we are meant to rise above yet for some reason many do not.

p.s. i posted the five pound thing bout a month ago in general, it almost made me cry when i first read it.:D

Hello
I did seem to recall having read it in the DI forum somewhere.
I was so impressed with it at the time I kept a copy of it in a doc on my pc.
I hope you didnt mind me re-posting it, but it was such a heart warming little story and served as an excellent reminder of how we can unwittingly dedicate our attention to so many other things (such as money & work) at the total detriment of our own children.

Money & jobs come and go - but children grow up all too quickly, and we can never go back on those precious times we have allowed to pass us by.

Anyway, here`s wishing you a lovely weekend.

Nah, to not share, is to be selfish and to bring negativity. i was hanking your chain. I would rather it be used for good than not be used at all.

Om Shanti

Good job making this thread.
Arguing is just what helps the NWO, But the only way to finish the argument is to win it...

Once a boy went to his dad and told him: "I want money so I can give it to an old man shouting in the street."
The dad smiled and gave him the money.
After a few hours the father asked him: "What did that old man say when he shouted?"
The boy said: "Ice Cream! Ice Cream!"
:D

If you finish it by walking away that avoids the confrontation and i believe is winning. Arguements cannot be won in any other way as people go in their wanting to push their agenda and no matter what is brought to them contray they will dismiss it and push their own theories.
