the liberal democrats are the ones responsible for giving the digital economy bill (just passed in the house of lords) more teeth than it had.

they rejected the old bill on the grounds that it was too draconian, and thus created an amendment...

it now seems that the new amendment to the digital economy bill will have unforseen consequences, in other words it opens the back door for the government to easily abuse the bill...
