Palestinians Name Ramallah Street After Slain U.S. Activist Rachel Corrie
In other Mideast news, the parents of the slain American peace activist Rachel Corrie were on hand Tuesday for events marking the seventh anniversary of her killing. Corrie was crushed to death by an Israeli army bulldozer in Gaza as she stood in front of a Palestinian home to help prevent its demolition. Her parents, Craig and Cindy Corrie, have traveled to Israel and the Occupied Territories to take part in a wrongful death lawsuit against the Israeli government. The trial began earlier this month in the Israeli city of Haifa. On Tuesday, the Corries attended a ceremony in Ramallah where Palestinians named a street in Rachel’s honor. Later in the day the Corries returned to Haifa for a performance of a play based on Rachel’s writings called “My Name is Rachel Corrie.”

Everytime I see footage of Rachel I get very emotional. She was an angel, a hero. I dont know what else to say really.

There is a recruitment drive on facebook if there is anyone on there willing to put your name to it.

As a gesture of solidarity to them and to commemorate Rachel's Day of Conscience I have been launching a recruitment drive to the ISM from my Facebook page:
www.facebook.com/webpresenceme

The page has secured 50 recruits so far and 7th. place in ISM causes recruiter hall of fame but we would need at least 100 more recruits to take first place. This is a small but meaningful gesture from an Irish based Nonviolent Direction Action page.

Rachel Corrie - Interview - YouTube

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

Just in case anyone missed it earlier.

Thanks to everyone who joined the International Solidarity Movement as a response to my NVDA recruitment drive. We achieved a total of 107 recruits making us the fifth highest in the ISM's recruitment hall of fame.

This is by far the highest cause recruitment figure I've ever achieved in one campaign and I suspect we will inch forward to second place over the days ahead as some less frequent Facebook users respond.

If you are not already a member of the International Solidarity Movement I want to encourage you one last time to visit my profile page, click on the Green/Red ISM icon and join.

She is a true light for the fight against oppression, and as Ray McGovern the former CIA analyst said about Rachel, " you can kill the body, but you will never kill the spirit ".
