This article mentions Slim's 'holdings' as being worth the reported $53.5 billion that takes him to the top of the list, but given that our Queen has land holdings alone worth around £17 trillion how come her world-beating wealth is still the worst kept secret in finance? What's the agenda here?

We need a moral journalism, make a magazine called - "Greed 500", provide detailed analysis of all the cheating these people had to do. Then dwell into their earlier life and general biography and how they've come to have this mental illness. ;)

Here in the US most people since they were children have been brainwashed into believing that the weathiest among us did it thru hard work and cleverness. Warren Buffet and people like him are heroes in this country. People have no understanding of the atrocities that these robber barons have committed to get to where they are. Then there is the general moral decay and lack of ethics that is now pervasive throughout our society. There is a general pissed-off attitude about wat has happened on Wall Street, but most people feel like the worst of the white collar criminals are ok because they were smart enough to figure out how to game the system. That's what everyone in this country is striving for these days, gaming the system, and making money doing nothing productive what so ever. It is the ONLY reason people spend the money on such things as the Havard Business School. It's all about making the right connections into a cushy job making big bonuses scamming people and cooking the books. That's why this country is doomed.

The real richest people are above the law and are not required to reveal their wealth. If it is known how much someone is worth you can guarantee that they are just the errand boy.

Probabaly, but maybe if you get the errand boy by the balls he'll rat out his masters :p

Good thinking, give George Soros a big squeeze in the right place.

The Rothchit dynasty has an estimated split wealth in the early 1913 of over $2,000,000,000.

What is the appreciable interest in that value & how much money have they hidden in philanthropy?

That is true. That makes her a multi-trillionaire.

There are many wealthy Familes/Royal Houses that are hardly ever mentioned likes of the Cecil's and the House of Hesse (Financiers of the Rothschilds).

She doesn't actually own anything, now if you take the Saudi Royals they do own Saudi Arabia.

i remember reading or watching something one time that said the queen had nothing to do with Australia anymore, as it was given to the USA after world war two, when i certain American General sailed into Sydney harbour

Surely the worlds banking families would be the richest, given that they litterally just type numbers into computers and that's how much they have. Remember, money doesn't really exist.

Wow! Have you a source for that figure? Not that I'm doubting you, but I like people to substantiate their claims.

What I would suggest is that perhaps the Queen's wealth isn't really hers. I mean if she tried to sell the Crown Jewels to a Saudi billionaire there'd more than likely be repercussions, as it could be argued they belong to the nation. The same could be said of Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and many other residences. I submit therefore that her wealth is perhaps not really hers to dispense with as she sees fit. Though, in all honesty I am guessing.

Well you could use the old chestnut that all property is theft but we don't want to go around in circles do we? Have a butcher's at this...

Carlos Slim is the most richest for the msm, but he owes everything to Carlos Salinas de Gortari, mexican ex-president, Salinas bought lot of things using Carlos Slim, he then gave him Telmex, Salinas controls a lot of things in mexico and is much more powerful

Maybe good old bill wanted a bit of time out of the spotlight while he does a few bad things. Or maybe Bill has been placed at a status where he no longer has to be on rich list......hes been promoted to elite.???
