The UK is installing microchips into bins so they can be weighed and you charged for how much you throw away.

A hot needle will get rid of it:cool:. If we can find out exactly where on the bin the chip is.

At our previous council, all bins had a number. Each bin was weighed as it was emptied and if too heavy a note was put on it issuing a warning. Each garbage truck has a colour monitor installed so the driver can see what is going into the truck. I never heard of any fines or penalties being imposed even during the blitz on clean paper and cardboard recycling. That council also had a dedicated team of garbos who picked up rubbish dumped on the roadsides and those people did get fined heavily.

At our current council I do not know if the bins are numbered or weighted but I do know there are people at the dump who sift thru the rubbish because we have seen some of our old stuff in the dump shop.

Its the problem reaction solution scenario

"Let's make products with waaay too much packaging, then CHARGE people to rid the waste"

My how deep the conspiracey against humanity runs!

I mean, go to the drive thru of mcdonalds, spend 3 dollars, and the wieght of trash is comprable to the weight of food!

another problem is that the number does not actually correspond to you....because all the bins were jumbled up with your neighbours b4 u had chance to put house numbers on them!

computer says u r guilty then u r.....they dnt even need to prove that the computer said anything! they just say it did.....and the only way to get a name out of a g-man is to kill one in self defence, apparently.....

Seems reasonable. Too much rubbish at the end of the day, tbh.

Its an RFID chip about the size of a milk bottle top and its under the front part of the bin under the rim that is below the rim of the lid. Crouch under with a torch and youll see it.
I poked mine out years ago with a dinner knife. Easy.

Where mine used to be.
