The 'personal' music player
Think about it

Pod. I. I am a pod. In a pod. Blocked out from the world.

It's not playing music. It's playing you.

Y'know it's weird you say that!

I've recently stopped listen to my MP3 player outside now. I feel I disconnect and doens't really make my journeys more enjoyable. It actually makes them worse, because I'm no tuned in. I now enjoy walking with the sounds of outside (sometimes, as long in outside the city center)!

Even worse are the people that play their ringtones out loud while walking down the street. Those people really grate on me.

True....also, mp3 quality is very bad......I'm a WAV man myself :D

I have the iPod 30 gb and I do like it for downloading radio interviews in mp3 format ( WAV takes up too much space and slows everything down, and I don't always feel like burning a disk) It doesn't clutter the house with CD's all over the place. I have a few of Davids vids and tons of photos as well as mix of 70's music and interviews from Red Ice, Tsarion, Freeman etc. About 700 selections to choose from. I have converted my casette tapes Barbara Marciniak to digital mp3 as those old tapes are hard to find and can't be replaced. Yes I have also thought that same thing seeing people cut off from the world outside when they have these things on. I use it to get me through a boring treadmill workout otherwise just plug it into external speakers. There are pros and cons to everything. Cell phones are another thing people love to zone out with as well, internet, TV, it's just how you use it, the technology is not all bad ( except for TV - that is BAD )

All things are good and bad... I don't care for the Big Corp. Even evil tools can be used for good. I enjoy to be mobile, and the ipod helps me with that. No need to carry around boxes of CD's.

When the guerilla war hits the world I need to fit all that I cherish into a small backpack... and with the ipod, the USB and similar gadgets I can.

I remember when I bought my Sandisk player, and a day later I realized that this is like the opposite of meditation. Instead of being aware, you are disconnected. I had buyers remorse.

You Galien lords. (aka gaylords)

Ipods are essential for the following things

A) Road work - getting up at 0530 and doing 6 hard miles of continous jogging can be hard work unless you have real men, such as myself, shouting about how hard shit is

B) Looking cool in the street - Street cred is everything

C) Slapping Brick Murphy, in a Non Gay Way - he wants to play on my ipod but I don't let him.

All you fuckers who think that you can switch off have a rude awakening. I'm talking about Blue Ball Syndrome and shit here

It's all iThis or iThat, it's iEverything these days.

Earth = iPlanet

Third iPod from the iSun

Never had one,
Never will..
Really the only times I ever want one is when I'm on the beach.
But only after there's a million people there, making tons of noise.
OMG WE'RE PEOPLE AT THE iBEACH RAH RAHHH RAHH RABBLEBABBLE

I see those disconnected souls walking around EVERYWHERE with their iPod...

And it's always loud enough to hear from their earphones. Or should I say iPhones? Jesus...

What a crappy iSociety.

And some more-

People have been turned into walking talking advertisements.

This is truly the most pathetic thing I've ever seen.

One example I experienced recently at work:

"Hey dude you gonna get the new iPhone?"
"[sigh] What the hell is an iPhone?"
"You don't know what an iPhone is?" (aka "You mean you didn't download the same program as me?")
"..uhhm no."

And then he walks off cuz he can't talk about his new this or new that!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

This rings truth to it, i use to do this not frequent tho, havent done this in years. Way before i was reading these subjects. Now when i remember i feel its true, i felt disconnected and was in a state of illusion.
