Help me!

I guess the big deal now is whether brad Pitt or George Cloonie is the "King of Cool"

Help me! This is why I don't watch TV!

Mine has been off for months aside from watching DVD's.

The cure? (If your serious) I suggest you begin watching more thought provoking films like Dark City, Waking Life, etc. and slowly reduce the amount of normal television you watch.

Did you know that the television always moulds thought for others, hence the illumanti is very strict in what we watch.
I have read a great book about the perils of TV, and there is a great website called whitedot. This is actually promoting no TV watching.

I watch TV. As entertainment and as a source of information. But nowadays I am very cautious about subliminal messages, especially on the emotional level.

For some reason I tend to connect more with people who watch little or no television.

The internet is now overtaking the television. Many are preffering you-tube to watch things. What I hate about the computer is that it is a haven of Porn, bigots and all the vile elements of society.

I don't think that the Internet will entirely overtake television, just as television did not entirely take over the radio.

Video did NOT kill the radio star:

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

:)

However, we may experience an increased integration of the Internet, television and radio, plus more things to come...

This is a great site folks, plus I will find the link about the internet damaging the IQ of the user. That info was given to me via a self help/lifecoach book.

And b t w, the Internet is NOT a series of tubes, and I KNOW what net neutrality is. It's not a big truck. It's not something you can just dump something on. You cannot dump taxation on the Internet as a form of carbon tax. It simply does not compute!!!!!!!!!

a poem i wrote a couple of years ago (before when i was completely asleep)

Feel the TV as it lures you in. Its omniscient presence and formidable glow.
The gentle hum of the smooth synthetic chassis.
Calming to the conscious.
Piercing screams like needles shooting through the tampered drum in your ear.
Gently it lulls you into a trance-like state in which all that is around you is blocked from sight and sense.
Alone or with company its hold on you strong,
Red, green and blue parade in the confided space to which makes pictures of that it is ignorantly unaware.
The occasional fizz or digital fracture,
Moves and jumps, intense as it thrives.
Familiar sounds vibrate their way around the room
Seeking ready minds
To turn and glance, transfixed
The thin charm of those blinding flickering colours
Are empty and moodless, repeating
Forgetting the night before
And yet returning
And waking…
To waste.

Ditto! Although one night I decided to turn it on and watch the news......BIG mistake... my family all left the house in disgust because I became so vocally abusive with all my shouting out, "yeah right, pull the other one you twats" and, "oh get fucked, you really expect people to believe that crap you morons"!!

So the bottom line is, me and TV's just don't make a good match, and they really, really do bring out the worst in me.:D

Television is poison. But as Bruce Lipton said, people working themselves up in a Jesus state can drink strychnine without being affected. And then television can be enjoyed without harm.

I wonder if what Bruce Lipton said is actually true. He has mentioned the poison -drinking people many times along with other stories of seemingly miraculous feats. I remain skeptical but I am not too sure. The power of beliefs may have been gravely underestimated, at least among the ordinary public.

It is clear to me that I can watch television today without being fooled by the messages. Still there can be other even deeper subliminals that I am not aware of. But that can also be true about the Internet.

i enjoy watching TV!!

hear me out. i've read many books and websites about subliminal and not so subliminal messages from the TV. When you know HOW to watch TV it becomes even more entertaining. The other half does get pissed off with me when i point them out. Remember, it doesn't work if you are aware of it!

I stopped watching television ages ago. Although, few months ago, I used to put it on to watch comedy shows or documentaries and that's it, but recently gave that up. I can't even look at it once. My family are mesmerized by it and it's so hard to just let them do it. It forms all their opinions. Anyone know America's Next Top model? Or other related shows? They watch them......yes.......they are fucked, sadly! :(

I know how you feel, its especially painful to see the young-ens become shaped and programmed by it. Same goes for the music on the radio.

Well here's what I did. I stopped watching TV about 10 years ago, when I picked up a TV guide and saw the words "Viewer Programming". I have free cable where I live, but it's unplugged. The dusty old TV just sits there. I don't even watch VHS or DVD on it anymore, as I now own a portable DVD player.

A couple of weeks ago, my children were traumatized watching TV at a hotel we were staying at, so as an experiment, I hooked the cable up just to see how bad it had become. Thats when I saw this celebrity faceoff crap between Brad Pitt and George Cloonie.

I was instantly appalled and sickened. I felt like the TV was ACTUALLY radiating sickness into me. After 30 seconds I turned it off and immediately felt better. I actually had a physical reaction to the "Viewer Programming".

Thats all the TV I need for another ten years or so.
