View Full Version : Extreme Left Want Skirts Banned In School

Extreme left continue political correctness agenda by proposing a ban on skirts in schools, in case they offend transsexuals. Harman calls for a new social order.

Why should skirts offend transsexuals?
Why not let both sexes wear trousers or skirts or whatever they want?

Both extremes of the left-right paradigm are characterised by fascistic thinking and the over-arching promotion of social and intellectual conformity.

Interesting. I think that means that the left-right thing is an illusion and what actually matters is how extreme our 'leaders' are in carrying out their desires.

As an anarchist I find that fascinating. I didn't know my beliefs included telling people what to wear.

Guys just because the left right paradigm is an illusion doesn't mean others don't buy in to it and act on those views.
When I say extreme left I mean
I thought these progressives, liberals, hippies and the political correct crowd, equality bill etc.

It doesn't, but it depends on your definition of anarchy. Most modern definitions are anachronistic (out of time).
Really (IMO) anarchism or anarcho-communism are about finding a personal and social balance in harmony with nature and shared (not imposed) values, extremism of either kind (right or left) is un-anarchistic.
For example, an extreme right-wing anarchist (eg. an anarcho-Capitalist) favours the rule of the Market, capital (money) and by extension the 'Hidden Hand' in all human affairs; this is hardly anarchy at all, and as a term and an ideology is really just an oxymoron. True anarchism and Capitalism are anti-thetical to each other.
Whereas an extreme left-wing anarchist is more akin to a nihilist - they oppose order, rules, organization etc. This is hardly true anarchism either. But this sort of 'anarchy' as popularized by the media and in the minds of the masses is what the term & ideology constitutes, sadly. Hence, the anarchist is perceived as being an anti-social, destructive rebel against law & order (ie. a criminal) in both popular and intellectual western culture.
It's an interesting discussion that perhaps deserves a seperate thread. :)

Yet another bullshit interpretation of a theoretical position.
Nowhere do the EOC say they "will ban" anything. it merely states a possible legal interpretation that will never ever come to anything.
Hysterical over-reaction to a hysterical over-reaction to a non-story.
Sloppy journalism all round.

No discussion needed, you pretty much nailed it for me there. Anarchism isn't political, it's sociological.

that seems like a distortion..the report i read did mention "transgender" but really only in passing. the large part of the report was that some schools still ban girls from wearing trousers and must wear skirts..whatever the weather.
That is clearly a stupid policy and should be banned..along with offices having much more strict dress codes for men than they do women..but i think if it discriminates against men its more acceptable than against women?

What a dumb-assed, non-story thread.
No transgender young man or woman would be offended by whatever the other pupils of either gender wear - all they wish is to wear the clothing of their 'adopted' gender when they transition.
Seems much ado about nothing, perhaps by someone with a grudge against that minority who want to encourage division.
'Banning skirts' ROFL, the intellectual buffoonery of that is funny on so many levels.

Exactly how many school age transsexuals do you guys have in the UK? What a dumb thing to even ponder, and I thought trannies of both sexes had a healthy appreciation for skirts anyway heck for most clothing items.

If it ever became an issue, I'm sure the school could work it out with the parents. At least I hope so.

This is what I thought about all of this, I mean it's nice to consider the feelings of transgender school aged children, but I wonder what percentage of the average student body of a school they would amount to?

You know, I was thinking of between-gender people rather than youngsters who want to swap gender.
I'm a would-be anarchist too, but I can't see how it could work... maybe I'm just too pessimistic about people/societies... I do agree with BobbyDiva though that there's a kind of perverse excess of political-correctness at work in current government (reading between the lines there, Bobby ;) )

The right and left take turns, it keeps the people arguing amongst ourselves. While that happens, they sneak those annoying laws and taxes through the back door.

There should not even be transsexuals in schools for fucks sake, people can call me a bigot, a fascist or whatever else but this really is crossing the line of what people can tolerate. What happened to the days when effeminate men just used to skip and dance with the girls, while the normal boys played sports or something and then come out of the closet during their teens or something?. They have already allowed a 12 year old to go under the knife and its disgusting.
A few weeks ago i was told that a "transsexual awareness" group tried to take advantage of a mentally handicaped and get him to sign a form to request a sex change. This is how these ultra leftists operate and they are everywhere now, they take things too far and they are well aware they have hate crime laws in place to stop people who reject or see through them.

I don't think they're ultra-left or ultra-right I just think they're knobheads.
I can remember girls being able to wear culottes and trousers in school. I only remember two girls ever wearing culottes and that was just for the sake of being different. One girl wore trousers because she was poor and had to wear her brother's hand-me-downs.
I don't think this is about trans-sexuals at all. I think that's like when you phone in sick and say something personal enough to stop them asking questions. I'm inclined to think that there's another agenda that we're not being allowed to see. What that might be, I can only guess.
Given what's been in the news recently, I'm guessing:
(horny teenagers + dirty teachers) + (mobile phone cameras + the internet) = skirts are bad mmmkay?
wake_up_bomb
01-03-2010, 11:56 PM
To be fair, this is clearly nothing to do with transsexuals, or masculinising girls, that is just press spin and nonsense. It's just a Catholic public school doing what they do best, being stuck-up and ridiculous. Obviously the ban is completely ludicrous, but that's the way these sort of places are. It will simply be the case that the girls wearing short or 'sexy' skirts is diminishing the reputation and image of the school, in the school's eyes. A load of cack obviously, but not anything as sinister as is being suggested.
