On The Corner is another great album...."Side 2" based on Black Satin is my favourite.....

I always liked Dave Liebman's soprano sax on the opening track....I heard an interview with him from 2001....he got that studio date whilst at the doctor's (his mother phoned to say that a Teo Macero had rung- CBS wanted him down at the studio).....he rushed out, drove to the studio...took out his horn, put the headphones on.....(no rehearsal) and what you hear is literally the first notes he played! Great lesson in spontanaiety. :cool:

Thank you, Lightgiver. I apologize to you and the other members. I have been very angry this afternoon but the anger has tired me and now I mourn for J and his wife and children and all the rest of us. He suffered bi polar and depression diseases for a long time.

We have been busy calling each other and those who are not on the road making the journey to comfort his wife and children are keeping each other updated via email. It's tough but God gives strength to all of us and in turn we share our strength with his wife and children. That's the priority above all.

He was 54.

For real. I feel sorry for kids growing up with MP3's and no vinyl. I thought CD's were bad, but MP3 is just totally devoid of the life essence of the music.

I find cds/digital audio fatigues me and sometimes gives me a slight nauseating headache after a little while of listening. Digital audio is overly compressed and I'm sure this is what causes this, also it's one of the reasons why I don't listen to a lot of modern music(a lot of it doesn't appeal to me anyway), this seems to be how a lot of music is produced these days. It seems loudness and over production rules over a quality listening experience. Also theres a lot of detail missing from digital audio, I'm sure a lot people probably won't notice this but I know I'm not the only one who does notice.
