Karl Rove was George Bush's chief political strategist, and the genius who used religious wedge issues to cleverly get the moron elected by dividing the electorate. He is basically the engineer of what can be called "the politics of 51%". He was also instrumental on setting up the K Street Project in Washington DC, which basically gave corporate lobbyists free and easy access to the halls of Congress. He's also pals with some very fine upstanding citizens such as Tom DeLay, who once blocked an energy bill from getting passed because it didn't include a provision to continue this country's MTBE fuel additive program, which is a known carcinogen, but was being manufactured by one of his own pet companies. He was also friends with Jack Abramoff, a lobbyist operative who is currently serving time in a federal prison for defrauding Native American tribes, and for paying bribes and kickback money to public officials. All of these assholes hang out in the same circles.
