Does anyone else suffer from this? How do you stay asleep after becoming aware? I read that if you spin around that this seems to prolong it.
Hints and tips please.
To elaborate further, this is a problem for me. I have been on medication which knocked me out like the dead (I am glad to say) but am now off it and its out my system because I have returned to light sleep and lucid dreams. If I dont get a proper nights sleep it triggers migraines. So if I dont get a handle on this I am back on medication cos I need my sleep LOL
So any help appreciated.

I did spinning at first, and it helps to prolong. After awhile, didn't need much, just kept doing things I wanted to do and telling myself to stay "awake".

In the dream your "character" should start to spin around. For some odd reason this seems to work, as I managed to get back off to sleep again this morning despite waking at first break of light again. Usually when I am awake, I am awake and cant get back to sleep.

It is when you have already managed to project into the dreamworld, or what some might say wake up in your dreams, and maintain this state of awareness by doing a spontaneous spin with your light body, to keep you from slipping back into the script, or what I call zombie mode. I call it this because most people that I encounter in lucid dreams appear to act robotic and like zombies and It is rare that I can converse with someone intellectually, but I make up for this by flying around and changing forms.
the spinning is effective and I think it should be done every few moments at first, until you gain better control over your awareness of being in the dream world.
Lucid Dreaming :D I've been trying again recently to do this... For me it's the most exhilirating feeling in the world to become lucid in your dreams... Because one instant you believe what you're experiencing is reality - then the next, you realize that you are truly free in that you have control over everything you experience in the dream world (well, more or less anyways).
Here's some advice though. Personally, the "spinning" technique never really worked for me. Everyone is different, so if this doesn't work for you either, try this method.
As soon as you become lucid, get close to any object and pay extremely close attention to the detail. Run your hand through the grass and note the texture. Look really intently at the detail of your immediate surroundings; use as many of your senses as are applicable and pay attention to how they feel....
I don't know exactly how or why this works but apparently it "stabilizes" your environment. It's helped me stay lucid anyway. Best of luck to you.
