I'm eating lots of organic live yoghurt at the moment because I've heard it's good for fungal infections. I have what I think is oral thrush. It's probably caused by the fact that I've been boozing it up a bit these last couple of months; well I have been on holiday! Anyone else know about this?

I'll let you know how I get on.

Do you have white spots? I know my baby had oral thrush.
Have you heard about Kefir (http://www.kefir.net/intro.htm) - I have just learnt about it and
I think that helps with yeast infections if that is what you have?
It's similar to yoghurt. Well good luck.

Yeah natural yogurt is wisely used amongst women with Candida as it contains Lactobacillus which suppresses Candida albicans (a form of yeast natural flora that normally live quite happily in the gut, mouth and vagina but they can overgrow, this causes Candidiasis!

I have very inflamed, dry, cracked skin on the corners of my mouth.

Fasting is the only true way to set things straight but friendly bacteria can help the symptoms. I take kombucha tea, extremely good source of friendly bacteria and it tastes better than any drink I've ever had (when I slightly warm it).

haha i didnt mean overgrowth of Lactobacillus (the stuff in bio-yog) i meant over growth of tthe Candida albicans (thrush) - the lactoballicus inhibits the growth of candida albicans by increasing lactic acid which neutralises the candida albicans thus inhibiting growth....oh god....i cant articulate myself very well today!!! :o:D

eat it till your heart's content!! :)

Thanks, Chris and Lottie. I'll try those cures.

I don't want to go to the doctor for antifungals if I can help it. the patyogens in fingal infections are just like those in bacteria and viral. They exist in your body and environment, but it's something that happens in your own body that lets them attack you. For example: I always get a cold when I'm stressed or worried.

hey hagboard you can buy Lactobacillus in holland and barrat it comes in capsules and has half the family of Lactobacillus (bout 6 or 7 different strains). its not expesive, if it continues tho just go get some anti bionics.

Thanks, mate. there's a Holland and Barrett near my house and I already go in there for organic honey and peanut butter. It's a good shop.

There's no way your going to realistically beat a candida infection with friendly bacteria, they might improve the symptoms somewhat but I hate to break it to you but fasting is the only real way to set everything back to normal.

True but it appears so each time- i generally suffer from it after taking a course of anti-biotics (classic case) and after use bio-yog and some tablets that lookfar gave me (i'll ask her what they are (natural)) and hey presto- all gone!! :)

It will never go completely because we all live with Candida albicans in us all the time- its only overgrowth that causes candida- so if you can reduce the overgrowth back to normal levels then you've sorted it! They are just natural flora!

But hey i'd be interested to know why you feel fasting will help? any new info is gratefully accepted! :)

Well I am on the 26 day of a water fast at the moment and the answer is pretty simple. Keytones produced by your liver eat up the candida overgrowth to provide energy.

I have had a really healthy lifestyle for the last year or so but I had no idea how much shit I had in my body until now. Fasting is the only way to set yourself straight. Everything eventually goes back to default setting. I am improving and will do moreso but there is still a way to go.

Here is one of the best books on fasting...

My mouth is a bit better today. Either the yoghut worked or it's easing off on its own.

I prefer to let my own immune system get it's teeth into any infection I have than use antibiotics. I'm worried about the rise in allergies these days. Asthma and hayfever are 10 times what they used to be. I used to get painful psoriasis on my elbows and knees. Some doctors think that the constant use of antibiotics and detergents are causing the immune system to go crazy through lack of stimulus and start attacking harmless substances and even its own body. David's arthritis is probably an auto-immune reaction. It ruined his football career and has given him constant pain since he was a teenager. I only use antibioltics as a last resort, like a few years ago when I had such bad tonsilitis it started to effect my breathing.

Like so many infections it's not a case of you catching the disease when you come into contact with the germ. All germs are always there, in the environmnt and in your body. It's some change in your body that causes the germ to suddenly attack you.

You might want to look in to Colloidal Silver.

I have heard this works better then antibiotics... but Big Pharm Bulled it down... Or something I don't really know the whole story but... maybe look in to it...

Here is a forum on it... so I would do some proper reasearch I have had not had time lately but soon as I get chance :)

Also read more then the first three posts... That video looks like a fake to me the fact his skin is the same as the wall is a bit of a give away...

http://www.davidicke.com/forum/showthread.php?t=115055 - plus you can make it your self you don't need to buy it in a bottle and also... it should be a more cloudy white then yellow... else something went wrong... There is site somewhere on making it... Not sure if they post anything in that forum like I said not had chance to read it all... But you can definatly make it yourself cheap... if that got out antibiotics would go bye bye... so they wont do research on it now... and they just try scrutinies it...

However I suggest trying to find a proper scientist with a decent background a phd or something that suggests it... I will try find something like this too :)

Plain yoghurt is awesome for your intestinal health and Kefir is even better. Kefir can often be tolerated by those who can't handle milk. Donna Gates has an great site and book about body ecology which is well worth looking at.

If you're interested in a real high probiotic strain the nutricentre do one with 50 billion live cells in it

http://www.nutricentre.com/p-23450-health-aid-immuprobio-50-billion.aspx

It's the best for it's price and i think theres 8 or 9 strains in it, though it seems theyve got the wrong picture in there!
