Victoria Police to trial taser guns

Victoria Police will trial taser stun guns in regional Victoria.
Police in Bendigo and Morwell will be trained to use the guns in the coming months.
The Chief Commissioner Simon Overland says giving police the power to use tasers, will assist in responding to violent incidents.

What i dont get is why they are illegal for us to own. Its a personal defence device isn't it? Do they not want us to be able to defend ourselves? If a pig can be trained to use these, why can't we? Is it any more lethal in our hands than in a pigs?

P.s pigs are really dumb, i called one a fairy on the weekend and he tried arguing the point with me,which ended up with him agreeing that he was infact a fairy. LOL

Because any weapon that is effective against a human, is also effective against an agent of the Crown/Empire, who are also just human, and they dont want that. Same reason Howard disarmed the country.

Plus it would scare off more young people from becoming policy officers. At the moment most cops know they usually will face people who are unarmed. They usually have the upper hand in Australia.

They have enough trouble recruiting as it is...if potential cops thought they could be getting tasered or shot, there wouldnt be as many signing up.

Yeah they are, because if they knew how much they were helping the Empire keep their con stable, well they should be asking for more money :D

I dont know if id use the word fairy to describe some of them though, more like Nutcracker...

I think one would need at least 2 tasers at once to drop the boss.
