Just been reading a few threads in this section and thought Id do my own.
I was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 1988 .Im off medication now and very stable.
When i first got it I felt a energy surge like a snake shoot up my spine and circle the inside of my head. I was told later on from a spiritualist that it sounded like classic kundalini.
After this I started to have lucid dreaming followed by what i think were obe's . Also for a few years it felt like an energy was moving none stop in my brain.
The symptoms that I have now is a tightness inside my head .I can feel energy waves through my body.
Also feel like something is trying to take me over and im fighting this spaced out feeling all the time.
Also a very hyper sensitive feeling inside my body .Can feel the shape of my body from inside .
Has anyone else had these things?

That is exactly what Kundalini is, its been responsible for many mis diagnosis of mental illness.
I had my kundalini awakening when I was 19, the base of my spine throbbed like crazy and got very warm, kept getting extreme hot and cold flushes all over my body, throbbing on the top of my head like something was trying to break out.
I didn't have oobes or lucid dreams but my intuition ramped up to the nth degree. Could feel and sense auras and other energy fields, once read the thoughts of a shopkeeper, completely freaked him out.
Lucky for me my house mate was chinese who took me to his acupuncturist, who checked me out and kept babbling to me its your hara, hara, hara...lol
and needed grounding. Which he did, needles in every chakra point, a few between my toes and soles of my feet. It worked but kundalini awakening is for life and not just for Xmas. And the same feelings keep cropping up now and again as the serpent pushes itself around my body.
Kundalni rising is responsible for many a manic depressive/bi polar being misdiagnosed as well.
Glad your not on the medication coz you don't need it but an energy healer/practitioner but ye dont get them on the NHS.:D
Like jammasterj13 says that is definitely the Kundalini rising. I was also a teenager when I first got it. However I have to disagree to some extent with "its been responsible for many mis diagnosis of mental illness". Kundalini does never cause illness or even the appearance of mental illness if routed properly. There is a very good reason why this knowledge is still not widely taught (forget the new Age books). It's dangerous if not handled properly, case in point, the OP. It is supposed to rise out the top of your head in one continuous torrent, not stay trapped inside circling your head and back into your body. This will result in genuine mental illness. You unleashed something that you couldn't control. It's like 2 year olds playing with matches. Don't worry though, it's not permanent but you will need to get it sorted.

Sure have! - all of the above... also, totally relate to your description of a "tightness in the head", I get a similar sensation - for time-to-time - around my fore-head / pineal gland zone... although it is not necessarily un-comfortable, yet more a-kin to a tingling pressure, verging on being itchy or slight feeling of that area being tickled...
Also, I sometimes get - which may or may-not be related - strange echoy sounds which seem rather loud, yet I can tell they're coming from "with-in", like a deep thudding sound & some others... usually upon / or around falling as-sleep or waking up... as-in the in-between sleep stages... - ever had anything similar???
Tis all good with me, I'm completely insane! :D - although to be absolutely fair, I don't have an 'on-going' impression that anything is taking over my mind or body... or out to get me, or fear 'losing control' or becoming possessed or anything, despite having seem some freaky shit! - how they know where I am... tis anyones guess :D (I'm really not fucking around ere tho ;))... Basically, somehow have some sort of impression / expectation that if I'm ever in any "Spiritual danger"(or any & all for that matter), per-se, I'd receive all the help I need...

The thing is most people have no idea how to route it properly it's hardly common knowledge. I was lucky that I lived with somebody who didn't have much faith in left brained western medicine otherwise god knows what would have happened.
There are many folks who inadvertently set it in motion buy ingesting entheogens and what not.
The physical symptoms are the least of an individuals worries.

Stuart Wilde has said that the Kundalini energy is too rapid a way to heighten your consciousness, it can blow off your crown chakra according to him. But I don't know about that guy.

I know an excellent reiki healer in Urmston who I go to see now and again when the energy builds up too much in my head, she basically moves the energy about the body and grounds me properly with crystals and what not.
If you want to go and see her I'll pm you the details.
Kundalini awakenings are not a bad thing at all, it happens for a persons spiritual growth.

I would agree with this - this energy needs to flow.
Sometimes when one becomes 'aware' entities read you like you have a neon sign above your head - you may need to sort that too.
I know of someone who has been 'diagnosed' with PS and it would appear that they have an unwelcome friend 'on-board' - which may be the cause or in addtion to the PS.
Whilst I am not an expert, your case does not sound like that to me. So just 'do' calm and the answers will come as will the people to help - look it's already happening!:) Have you - in the interim - got access to a trustworthy meditation group? If you have - go with your intuition - sign up and meditate, the same for relaxation groups, nothing too heavy, just enough to take the pressure off a while.
All the best - love and light!

Yeah, that's what happens; they hear about your 'symptoms' because you're confused about what is happening to you and then diagnose you as 'mentally ill' and stick you on meds; but it is Kundalini rising, it is as Jammasterj says below exactly right, we need to remember that there is so much natural higher potential denied human beings because of the evil and ignorance of psychiatry about spiritual power, and what that means. Depending on what happens to you on a kundalini awakening you might think that you are in fact going crazy, other people could think it if they saw you, but it depends.
The kundalini basically changes how you see yourself, the world, reality. It broke me out of the illusion.
Luckily with me it heightened my consciousness so that I knew that all this insane stuff was something good, and not me losing my mind.
I mean my kundalini propelled me into the "snake dance", I wish I filmed it, there seems to be no videos of it online. What would you normally think, or what would someone else think if they saw you spiralling uncontrollable in some crazy dance that was so powerful it took over your breathing making it sound abnormally loud and spun you so fast (yet so delicately) it seemed inhuman.
It's energy truly can "enlighten", but that could also be seen as going crazy. I now experience my self as a sphere of light, that's what we actually are, that's why I said it can break one out of the illusion, we are the mirror not the reflection, it just so happens that us mirrors are hyper-spherical mirrors.
I never had the ungrounded problem, the "outlet" for the energy that was trapped in your head is actually the point that you look at, what ever you happen to be looking at, that point at which your eyes converge. In order for the energy to go up and out, it first has to go forward and out.
It's too easy to get caught up in how your body and mind feel with the awesome energy that you forget to keep looking forward, out into the empty space around you.
You see we are always directly experiencing our third eye, all the light that makes up our visual field is not in the eyes or the brain, the eyes funnel the light to the brain, that then translates light to colour, then we experience that partical property at it's correspond chakra, ie light is experienced in the third eye, it is the direct experience of that chakra.
I say that because it's easy for the energy to go up all the chakras and get stuck in the head because "up" for the third eye is not up it's forward, it's like space get turned round for that chakra, you have to focus your energy forward through the visual field, down your line of sight, and keep it there. Out environment is basically totally represented in the visual field, and being grounded is directly connected with what you see, being connected, rooted to the environment (light).
It also has given me that inner sensitivity you describe, I "discovered" prana yama and chi gung through my kundalini awakening, it wasn't until around a year later that I discovered these things had names and that they were popular things.
It also gave me high pitched tone in my head constantly, I'm still unsure as to whether it's the pineal gland as David Wilcock says or simply some muscular tension somewhere (which can cause this sound I hear).
Peace

I suggest you to hug a tree every day at least 30 min. :)
It might sound crazy but actually it'll ground you and you will not feel any more like you're floating :)
And also a tree can suck all the negative energy and static electricity :)

Great post, ChildoftheTao!
As regards the last paragraph and the 'high picthed tone' / buzzing etc, I find the likely explanation that makes the most sense to me is that it is caused by the isometric muscular tension that results from kundalini awakening. :)
The 'pressure' goes away if you keep fit and trim, learn to control your body-weight, exercise; preferably do yoga. ;)

Personally I can't exactly relate to being spaced-out all the time, yet to be fair I've probably always been slightly "away with the fairies" - so tis prolly up for debate, that... Also, have spent many a day getting stoned, trying to get stoned or wondering if the stuff makes any difference, or even works any-more... - so I'm a bit on the fence with that one; since I know I can focus & concentrate when required, maybe lack of interest in things may play a factor here???

Funnily enough I have recently taken up ashtanga yoga.
When I first heard David Wilcock say it was the pineal gland "activating" or something I thought "wow this is great!".
But my intuition slowly led me away from that and towards it being some kind of tension, led me to yoga, tai chi and chi gung.
Kundalini does do wonders for the intuition :)

I can relate to this experience and probably my friend can also. I had the same sensation of almost going into a trance like state, but this is due to me opening up whilst meditating and probably not closing down. I think its ok to be in this state of mind whilst inside in a secure environment, especially for aspiring arts but not outside! To combat the problem of being totally space out, I have found out exercise, especially practising weightlifting an effective way to ground oneself. Try it see if it makes a difference..Goodluck
