What is the Circumpolar vortex ?

It is The large-scale cyclonic circulation in the middle and upper troposphere centered generally in the polar region.

The Troposphere Lower part of the atmosphere, extending from the surface up to a height varying from about 7 to 9 km at polar regions to approximately 17 km in tropics. The troposphere is characterized by decreasing temperature with height, appreciable vertical wind motion, appreciable water vapor content, and weather.

The solid surface of the polar pole, for sure, is affected by this cyclonic circulation.

The hexagon is similar to Earth's polar vortex, which has winds blowing in a circular pattern around the polar region. On Saturn, the vortex has a hexagonal rather than circular shape. The hexagon is nearly 25,000 kilometers (15,000 miles) across. Nearly four Earths could fit inside it.

How to explain the presence of this dark area at the moon's surface? Probably the moon already bathed in the atmosphere. Several moons ago...

Where are the old moonanians?????

I have a wild theory.
Maybe it's an old crater?
I know that sounds nuts...

Sorry, I see quite a number of dark, roughly circular areas in that photo, and I don't have any explanation for any of them.
