Most of us here are probably already aware of the Navy building that is shaped like a swaztika, but CNN's had possibly the dumbest explanation i've heard in my entire life! It's got to be watched to be believed...

I can see the Navy now saying:

"oops, we had no idea when we made the blueprints or built this thing"
"geez, wish we had aerial photography in the 60's"
"oh yeah, now that you mention it..."

Every bloody architect knows you are to have TOP views of the project! Blueprints have views from every angle! Don't give me that, OOPS we just built a swastika crap...

This is true, although the Nazi's reversed it.. I've seen many swastika's on my travels through Asia but they are always in the opposite direction to the Nazi one.

As if they could have made it in the shape of a swastika by accident :rolleyes:

we are all aware of the swastika as an esoteric symbol, a positive symbol but i'm sure it wasn't included in the design of this naval base in san diego with well meaning intentions :)

and Nazi mentality/skull and bones mentality, it's all one and the same.

Give me a break. Like someone said on the first page, when they built it they DID have blueprints for a TOP view.

Old, Asian swastikas occur in both directions.
One for positeve and one for negative (nazi). It's in our pagan religion in good and evil. They had a water wheel to represent good and evil. Two streams ran it (from heaven and hell) Here (http://www.bohinj.si/@images/lto/kolosvetekatre.jpg) is a depiction on the invitation. What's missing are two swastikas; one on the left red and one black on the right side. The left one represented good to them and the right one bad (like nazi swastika). The wheel that turned in either direction, depending on which strem flow over. This I know, because I spoke with a man who saw the wheel last, before the Nazis took it in WW2. He told me a lot of great stuff about symbolism and source of words. For instance; he believes name Chirac is connected to word that was for the bad stream (Šemenca - reads shementza). He explained it to me very well to the root word but I didn't remember it.:( I have to document everything and then I'll make a post about it.
