I'm interested in knowing more about different crystals and how they can be used in meditations or something similar. I bought a rose quartz for my heart chakra a week ago and I do feel strange things off it, so I'd like to experiment more..

Anyone got any interesting links on healing crystals??

Thanks!

Dav.

The best book on crystals and their so called properties is the crystal bible. I have tried different crystals but I think that they don't do anything at all. They just look nice. Crystal healing is the placebo effect like most alternative treatments IMHO. You might as well place a stone on your forehead it will have the same effect.:D Complete placebo effect. Come and get your magic rocks on strings.

I bought a piece of Labradorite & Jet from Glasto which I'd been after for a while (plus a few others), but these pieces have been travelling with me everywhere since. I'm sure the Labradorite has aided with me recalling my dreams, I'm just starting a diary to jot them down... Good luck with it all, ENJOY!!!:D

Anyone that says that they can heal people of an ailment using crystals is seriously deluded. I am all for having an open mind but not so open that my brain falls out. Most alternative treatments have been proven to be placebo if you research them. All resources are within us to heal. We do not need so called healers and crystals IMHO.

In fact crystals are used only to balance externally chakras avoiding some little and bizarre effect in your body due to energy blocks or too much energy in a chakra. Quarts are very useful for this job.

Crystals have to be activated before in one of the following way:
1-putting it in salt water and then dried with sun energy
2-through energy of secondary chakra of the hand (chakras are in total 11, 7 in the spine + 2 in the hands + 2 in the foots)

This is my experience.

Yes the ability to heal is within ourselves, but it may need a trigger to start it. Believing in something is important, it can give someone a knowing that makes sense to them, a self belief in the end really. So i reckon if it makes sense to you, great, it will have an effect. Its your own mind and spirit that gives you the power to believe without doubting, because if it makes sense to you, it becomes real logic in your mind.

The power of the mind is remarkable. Ever see that guy in South America calling himself John of God? He performs surgery on people with cancer without using any drugs for pain or anything else, he uses nothing but his hands and an ordinary knife. Strange thing is the patients never bleed or get infected and they heal with little scarring. He doesn't seem to use anything sterile either. Doctors and surgeons all over the world have been mystified to how he does it. He meditates with the patients before surgery to get their minds in a certain state.

Power of belief is amazing sometimes.

Everything vibrates because everything has a frequency this is why crystal do work especially when you can get into a state of mind that allows them to work effectively. We are biochemical electromagnetic beings. :D

In per se, Christals have no power.

Christal are passive components like inductance-capacitors circuits (resonators) able to store&release Scalar Energy (ZPE) and to regulate the vortex energy of chakras.

Hi There:

I work with crystals and love them. The heart chakra is a really special chakra as it opens one up to universal love. One crystal that I use almost daily in my own healing is the Kunzite. I got mine from a crystal store in Sedona. It is pink just like the rose quartz. I place mine on my heart chakra and then clear my mind and focus on the light energy.

Hi, soglad
If you want a really comprehensive book on crystals and their theraputic applications, get "A kaleidoscope of crystals" by Melody. You will find it in your library in the geology section probably. I am a retailer of crystals and I travel all over the uk at various events selling them. Pm me and tell me roughly where you live, i'll let you know if i'm gonna be near you and i'll give you a crystal if you like. Same goes for all you forum members.
p.s. I'm not touting my business here, honest!!:o:D

Most alternative treatments have been proven to be placebo if you research them. All resources are within us to heal. We do not need so called healers and crystals IMHO.
I have been using crystals therpeutically for 10 years now. The reason I was compelled to do what I do was seeing the results of utilising crystals to help "cure" or at least improve the condition or general health of myself and others, especially in circumstances where other, "conventional" therapies had little or no effect. I would dispute the assertion that placebo is the reason for their effectiveness for this reason. They can work where other therapies don't. If people were so succeptible to placebo, the other therapies should have been enough to generate the placebo effect. The principle behind crystal "healing" is based on vibration. Different crystals vibrate on different frequencies,(due to the crystal lattice of particular minerals) as do different adverse conditions of the body. Therefore, the vibration of the crystal, correctly applied (I recommend intuitive placement of crystals, dont get ripped off with expensive courses telling you to follow rules...there are no rules) can counteract the vibrational frequency of the condition being treated. I agree however that, eventually, especially after using the crystals for extensive period of time you become accustomed to the frequencies, via the crystals and learn how to counteract the vibrations of "disease" with our own energies without need of the crystal energies. The problem is, many people have had their chakra system so blitzed by their life that they need some intervention in order to re establish and balance their natural energy system before they are able to use their own "healing" ability. I believe that that is the message that the mineral world has for those who are inclined toward them. Crystals did that for me. I rarely use them now, but love them all the same.

Exactly.
It's all about energy fields. Crystals transmit, hold and transmute energy at various levels.
The body is an electromagnetic form, the crystals integrate with the bodies energy in subtle ways, balancing and enhancing the body's energy, and can even remove 'bad energy' and blockages from the body's energy field.

Also, they've been used in electronic equipment such as radios/tv's for a long time, due to the fact that they can transform currents of electricity that pass through them.

I love my moldavites too. Of all the hundreds of crystals I have around me, they are the most intense but not necessarily the most useful. I have found that selenite is just about the best material for getting instant results in a healing situation. Its just a pity it's so fragile. Cant tell you how devastated I was when my friend broke my fab selenite crystal. Thats another thing I had to learn though. We dont own them. If it was necessary for the crystal to break in order for healing to take place or FOR ME TO ACCEPT THAT NOTHING IS PERMANENT, then forgiveness was in order. T'was hard though.

Btw soglad, crystals are not just for healing. You can get some amazing insight into all sorts of stuff by putting them on your brow chakra. Sometimes it's almost trippy, especially moldavite. Others, like amethyst can just bliss you out. I had great fun experimenting.

I've come to this thread a little late...

External crystals are not a placebo, I remember when I bought this large amethyst crystal (like the one below) and I would place it in the sun in the day and then over my bed at night and I would have several OBE's.. In the summer I very much recommend you try it:)

http://www.forthejoyofit.com/Joy6_Spiritual/Amethyst_High_Grade.jpg

The problem with Crystals is that they seem to wear off and that's why people might mistake an initial boost for a placebo effect (and many people do have a placebo)...

I also consume a range of traditionally made alchemical elixirs made from several crystals and minerals. These have much more lasting effects.

Hi ah42

I'm also enjoying experimenting with my crystals (got quite a collection now). I just tend to pick them up as & when I need them & place them on whatever chakra they're drawn to at the time, more of an intuition thing. I also have a few that I place under my pillow at night. They're amazing & I'm quite fascinated by them.

I agree that sometimes their effects can feel quite trippy, but also take you through a wide range of feelings/emotions.

I've had a few that I've picked up that have actually been meant for other people, little syncros that slip into place that let you know that they need this one more than you do (we are sometimes just the receptacle to get them to where they're meant to be).

I don't know about crystals but have you ever heard of 'copper pyramids'?

There is a show we get called 'Beyond' on our Space channel, it's a paranormal series show, anyway one was about copper pyramids and their effect on preserving everything from razor blades to food and for reducing the effects of aging and healing (they hung it from their ceiling and slept under it).

I'm going to be making one myself but if interested here's a link to the show...http://www.beyondtheseries.com/beyondhome.html and I also found this page that shows what they look like... http://copperpyramids.net/

The people of Atlantis had special stones if i remember correctly. Not sure what for but it might have been for power?

I collect minerals myself through a magazine subscription and Ebay. Fascinating things, but having them in my room has brought me no luck or fortune that i can mention offhand.

I've always been curious about making gemstone, crystal, and mineral water, but i think I read somewhere that they may be toxic. I know there are gemstone body oils, but its not like your directly ingesting that in your body, so it's not dangerous. So has anyone else made gemstone water/elixirs without ill effects? Does anybody have a how to guide to make these gemstone elixirs?

Here's something I done a while ago. I got a photo of a good piece of moldavite. I then copied and pasted it about a thousand times in one folder. I then burnt the images to a CD and placed it on my forehead. It was quite intense and I had a rush of energy and various scenes and ideas playing out in my head. I wasn't sure what to expect and was quite cynical that I would feel anything, but was willing to try it out. I still jave the CD some where.

Tourmaline
A source of Far Infrared (FIR) and Negative Ions

Tourmaline is prized as a beautiful, semi-precious gem.

Now, as a mineral, it has become a focus of research at universities and research centers worldwide.
The reason - infrared Tourmaline is the only one mineral to show permanent electricity on the earth and is also a natural (non-manufactured) source of negative ions and far infrared (FIR) rays.
It is also known to be helpful for improving circulation, relieving stress, increasing mental alertness and strengthening the immune system function (Niwa Institute for Immunology, Japan. Int J. Biometeorol 1993 Sep; 37(3) 133-8).
Around 1986, it was found in a research station in Japan that, even though tourmaline was broken down in smaller pieces, a positive and a negative electrode existed on both end of the crystal, and the electrodes never disappeared unless tourmaline was boiled near 1000°C.
In addition, when the positive and the negative electrodes of a tourmaline crystal were connected to each other, it was proven to show low electricity of 0.06mA.

Tourmaline, in your filter, is used to naturally transform water into mild alkaline water, reduce water clustering (what happens to our stored water) and has anti-bacterial and deodorant qualities.
Treated water applied to the skin gives an excellent effect of moisturizing and absorption.

In addition, Tourmaline generates FIR that purifies the water, and acts like a 'supercharger', assisting the water alkalizer to ionize and alkalize.

Tourmaline has been researched and found to activate animal & plant metabolism.

Tourmaline has an immediate and powerful effect on water in the filter with the surfactant effect (makes water wetter) increasing by 101%.

Negatively ionizes water and supports extra negative ionization in the water alkalizer. (24,140/cc) / FIR (96%)

- Reduces cluster size

- Enhances taste

- Assists alkalization

- Minimizes water odor

- Increases DO (Dissolved Oxygen)

The far infrared energy that Tourmaline naturally emits causes a resonance in the body at the same frequency as water.
All matter is made up of uniquely-arranged electrons and molecules all moving in unison.
When molecules are illuminated with electromagnetic radiation of the same intrinsic vibration frequency as the substance itself, the electromagnetic wave energy is absorbed and the amplitude of that substance's molecular vibration is increased.
That's why when FIR, having the same vibration frequency, illuminates a substance, that substance will filter out the FIR and experience a "resonance absorption." This is a process known as "resonance-absorption to heat-generation" with the aid of FIR.

In other words, the vibration of atoms and molecules will result in resonance absorption.
When we feel hot, we will instinctively seek shade. When we feel cold, we seek the warmth of sunshine. No one teaches us these responses. We have an innate desire for a comfortable temperature. Comfortable temperatures are actually synonymous with a comfortable energy frequency or "wavelength." That wavelength happens to be 8 to 14 microns - the same as FIR.

The seventy-five percent of our bodies composed of water, protein, fat and other substances - all must function properly to sustain life.
When living things absorb FIR of 8 to 14 micron wavelength, they experience resonance absorption. The vibrating movement of molecules in living tissue produces an increase in energy which in turn activates cells and enhances metabolism.

FIR has three properties: radiation, deep penetration, and resonance absorption. Let's look at the relationship between these three properties and living things.
First, radiation: it means it can directly reach human bodies just like light does. For example, sunlight, which is also radiation, reaches earth through the vastness of space.
Second, deep penetration: FIR can reach well into subcutaneous layers of the body (or water) with its deep penetration ability, generating internal warmth suitable for molecule activation in living tissue.
The third feature is resonance absorption: Once illuminated, there is intrinsic vibration of body components - water, protein, fat, enzymes. And, the interior of molecules - atoms and atomic structures - experience the resonance absorption of FIR of their same frequency. This elevation of molecular energy is known as "resonance and absorption."

"Marcel Joseph Vogel (1917 - 1991) was a research scientist for IBM’s San Jose facility for 27 years. He received numerous patents for his inventions during this time. Among these was the magnetic coating for the 24” hard disc drive systems still in use. His areas of expertise were phosphor technology, liquid crystal systems, luminescence, and magnetics.

In the 1970’s Marcel did pioneering work in man-plant communication experiments. This led him to the study of quartz crystals and the creation of a faceted crystal that is now known as the Vogel-cut® crystal. The Vogel-cut® crystal is an instrument that serves to store, amplify, convert, and cohere subtle energies.

Marcel’s research into the therapeutic application of quartz crystals led him to the investigation of the relationship between crystals and water. He discovered that he could structure water by spinning it around a tuned crystal, altering many of the characteristics of the water and converting it into an information storage system."
