Here is some great video footage of the so-called "Roswell" rods. 4 1/2 minutes. It comes complete with overly dramatic, spooky sounding music:

I thought "rods" were explained as being insects.

Perhaps so:
On 8th and 9th August 2005, China Central Television (CCTV) aired a two-part documentary about flying rods in China. It reported an incident which happened from May to June of the same year at Tonghua Zhenguo Pharmaceutical Company in Tonghua City, Jilin Province, which debunked the flying rods. Surveillance cameras in the facility's compound captured video footage of flying rods identical to those shown in Jose Escamilla's video. Getting no satisfactory answer to the phenomenon, the curious research staff of the facility, being scientists, decided that they would try to solve the mystery by attempting to catch these airborne creatures. Huge nets were set up and the same surveillance cameras captured rods flying into the trap. When the nets were inspected, the "rods" were no more than regular moths and other ordinary flying insects. Subsequent investigations proved that the appearance of flying rods on video was an optical illusion created by the slower recording speed of the camera (done to save video space). This is the empirical evidence, showing that the "rods" themselves can be captured, and that they do indeed prove to be ordinary animals.

Rods are not creatures, they are not a previously unknown life form. All evidence points to the conclusion that rods result from how images (primarily video images) are recorded and played back. In particular, the fast passage before the camera of an insect flapping its wings 2 to 4 times during a 1/60th video exposure has been shown directly to produce rod-like effects, due to motion blur in the two interlaced image fields that compose each video frame, lasting 1/60th of a second (NTSC) at the camera's slowest shutter speed. This points to the video being physically unable to capture a clean image of something that moves so fast, relative to the camera. In particular, the "membrane" visible in a frame of a rod is effectively a time-lapse of the wings of the flying animal in different positions over several wingbeats, while the central "rod" is a time-lapse image of the body, related to the distance traveled in 1/60th of a second.
Conclusion: rods are not a new life form.

if rods are just insects then why are we able to see insects in tv documentaries as insects and not rods?:)

That smarty pants little question of yours has been answered many times. TV documentaries use a different type of camera, with a zoom and lens to focus in on small insects. Rods caught on film slowed down reveals fast moving insects.

There was a TV news story that shows a rod. It was faetured on the TV show The World's Greatest Conspiracy Theories. It is excactly like this one and the one in the base-jumper footage: fast moving and with staggered "wings".

I am surprised nobody's tried laying out food to see what attracts them. If these are a life form, they must exist by eating something.
Hopefully they are faeries.

If we could just catch one in a net then we would be millionaires :D
One way to DIS-prove that they exist is to film them with 2 different types of camera.
That video with the music is ace, it fits perfectly :)

The rods are the true rulers of the universe. Even the albino white reps answer to the rods. They are basically energy condensed into moving form. They don't need food. They don't care about anything. They just like to watch base jumpers and con people.

Careful. Skeptics HATE it when you trivialize their arguments with a simple and impossible to answer question.
