I shouldn't really own up to this as it's rude for a girl to reveal her age. I was today on a long journey and wanted to play some nostalgic music. Anyway, I picked up my recently bought 'Jackie' album, a triple cd set full of 70's songs.

I listened and enjoyed as I drove but also thought about the style of music compared to what is produced today. Many songs were based around couples falling in love, 'Love me for a reason' by the Osmonds and 'You to me are Everything' by the 'Real Thing' to name but a few.

My logic and instincts detect that around the 70's and before ,then they consciously and subliminally helped mould the structure of sWestern society. That is, couples getting together, loving each other and living happily ever after for eternity.

Todays music and its themes are in direct contrast to this. I can only assume that the highly sexualised lyrics and very suggestive videos are moulding a generation far removed from the boy girl unit promoted in the past.
