i'm trying to find out if it's "okay" to be taking nuerochemically altering medicine in an enlightened state.

should all "good feelings" come from ourselves naturally?
are anti-depressants considered "cheating"?
or does "how you got there" not matter, more so "where you are"

out of self-integrity/moral issues i ask...

what are your thoughts on this?

I read in this ayahuasca book that prosac releases seretonin in your body like lsd does, supposedly the more spiritual you become the more naturally your body will produce this substance and therefore become a more happier individual.

I have not tried it so cannot offer a proper opinion, but I get the impression that it will raise people for a short while and when they are no longer on it they feel a need to be happy again and get hooked/depressed.

I am looking into enthegens (natural drugs that are legal) although I have not experienced that either, I would try them first over anything that is chemically made.

I think it's the other way around and what they do is inhibit the metabolism of serotonin not realeasing any so it would make sense i think. (If i remember it right)

When i was younger i thought it was a good idea to take antidepressants, and it completely destroyed me.
Anyway, as opposed to LSD and other psychedelics which gives you this expanded state of conciousness it kind of dulls you down.

So it's easy to see why these are being pushed the way they are.
