SMH: Overweight Woman Crushed Boyfriend To Death, But Won’t Face Time

An Ohio woman was sentenced last week after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter for smothering the father of her three children by sitting on him. Look under the hood for details.
Mia Landingham pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter on Wednesday and was sentenced to three years probation and 100 hours of community service.
Landingham, who was believed to weigh over 300 pounds at the time of the Aug. 2009 incident, sat on Mikal Middleton-Bey as he was face first on the couch.
According to her lawyer, there was a history of domestic abuse between Landingham and her boyfriend.
Investigators say the victim was 5′10″ tall and weighed 126 pounds. andingham is 5′9″ tall.
A police scale that went up to 350 pounds wasn’t enough to accurately weigh the Cleveland woman.
SMH. What a shame. Everything about this story seems sad — from the domestic abuse, to the death, to the three children who lost their father, but if we’ve ever heard a good incentive to lose a few pounds, this might be it.

i saw someone at the market the other day and thought, how do people get so big that they have to use a "rascal" or other gokart to ride around instead of walk? sure keeping weight off came be tough, and lots of people struggle with it, i just can't understand how you can let it go so far that you can't even walk.

Black Americans are the most unhealthy lot i have seen. They eat lots of rubbish food, quite a contrast to the way other ethnics eat in America...have black Americans heard of fruit & Veg?

300 pounds? How the hell does it get that far? You would expect them to get on the scales at 200 pounds and think "shit that's quite alot............for a human..........maybe I should eat less and do more........or something"

True the chav population or people living below the poverty tend to have bad diets hence low self worth which means they not improve their lives or plan on getting out of poverty. So they will pass those genetic on to the next generation of chavs and the circle continues.
Poverty creates bad people (Attitude, envy, hate, racism, fundamentalism) which in turn creates a bad reality for society.

She sat right on his head, she had intent. He weighed 126 lbs, and if you have 350+ lbs of dead weight resting on your head and shoulders, you aren't getting that off of you.

Was anyone else, family friends and the like interviewed to establish the scenario of domestic abuse. Does anyone know? - or was it just the lawyers word?
Or is it time to add one to the list of reasons to avoid women twice your size?

Those are good questions, and I'm pretty sure they would have been addressed in court. A history of abuse would have had to be looked at and confirmed for a court to take it into account, they would not simply go by "the wife said so". Proof is needed.
Just because the woman was big does not mean she was the physically dominant partner in this abuse. Do we know if she ended up face sitting him at the end of an abusive encounter, or were they just sitting watching telly when it happend?

surely its murder. surely she must have known if someone of her bulk was to sit on the head of someone 3 times smaller than her while they were face down on a couch it would result in death.
on the issue of how ppl get into this state of overweight
i work with someone a female, she is 30 and she must weigh over 30 stones !!! she is about 5 5", she smokes and is always eating at her desk in work, crisps cholcolate and fizzy drinks. in the canteen she eats a huge meal and has TWO deserts. ive heard her come back from a fag break having walked a hundred or so yards back to her desk and she is litterally gasping for air !!! when ppl get to this size i think theyve passed the point of no return, but sureley there is a point where u get to a certain size and think thats it, cut down on the junk food and join the gym.
